The IOC is introducing mandatory genetic screening and excluding trans women from women’s competitions.

These measures do not protect women.

They expose women, particularly trans and intersex people, to procedures widely criticised as harmful, invasive and discriminatory.

As this policy will apply from the LA28 Olympic Games onwards, it marks a significant shift in the IOC’s approach to eligibility in women’s sport.

Together with Fier-Play and Compete Proud, we support the statement by Sport & Rights Alliance and call for this decision to be reversed.

We also call for dialogue with human rights organisations and affected communities, and remain open to sharing our expertise and contributing to inclusive, rights-based approaches in sport, building on initiatives such as Pride House Paris 2024.

Sport must remain a space of inclusion, respect and fairness for all. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
